Looking for
I'm looking for an environment where I can learn from people smarter than me, share what I know, and solve problems I have a genuine interest in. I am not picky about technology and am willing to pick anything up, the culture and the approach are way more important to me at this stage. I also would love access to some mentorship. I am at a point where I am comfortable being out of my depth and having to learn new things, but I would love some advice from some seasoned devs on how to approach my long terms goals in this industry.
Tech I like
I currently do most of my day to day coding in React/JavaScript, but have interests all over the map, many of them that have to do more with approaches to problems rather than specific technologies. I think web performance is a big deal in terms of being able to stand out from competition, and I would love to get into some of the lower level tools that are being offered up in the browser like service worker, and IndexedDB. I think having programmatic access to the cache is really powerful, and has massive potential upside for performance so any opportunity to dive further into that would be awesome. On the other side I want to learn more about event driven architecture, CQRS, and distributed transactions. Being able to build systems that operate on planet scale I think is really cool. Basically i just want any chance to push the limits in terms of what I know, and am capable of working with.
When I'm not coding
I grew up in a sports family and have played basketball pretty much all my life, and I am a massive OKC Thunder fan. I spend far more time reasonable on Spotify or NTS(my favourite internet radio). I love music, and have recently started learning Ableton. I'm always looking for book and movie recommendations. I really enjoy fashion, and of late have started to get really into art.
